Inauguration of our new winery

The opening date was scheduled for August 9th, and finally last Wednesday September 9^th , we were able to celebrate the opening party of the new Blanca Terra winery surrounded by friends, clients and authorities.

The event took place in strict compliance with the sanitary safety regulations to prevent and combat the transmission of the corona virus.

The founder and engine of this project, Mr. Bernat Febrer, greeted the visitors with a moving speech. Afterwards, our director, María Antonia Febrer, also gave a short welcome and gratitude speech to everyone involved in the Blanca Terra project. Her sons, Joan and Bernat, informed the guests about what work has been carried out in the new bodega, as well as the significant progress in terms of machines and technology. There was also space for a talk about the future and the plan to produce wine in a different way, as well as the operating model chosen by the bodega.

At this opening event we were not only accompanied by family, friends and customers, as well as by various representatives of the local and autonomous government, such as Mr. Gabriel Torrens MP for Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development, Mr. Iago Negueruela, Consultant for Economics, Tourism and Labour; Mr. Joan Verger, Mayor of Montuiri, and others.

Guests had the chance to enjoy a tour through the museum dedicated to the ancient tools and machines used to make wine, as well as the completely new facilities, all production areas and the technology which are used.

During the presentation, we also presented our two new wines, Ses Planes, a white wine made with Chardonnay and Moscatel and matured in an egg-shaped cement barrel, as well as Febrer Selecció, a red wine made from our Febrer wine, choosing only the barrels that produced the best wine in order to start a second maturation. The guests could take part in a tasting with both wines under the guidance of our oenologist.

After a few words from the government representatives, Pedro Sansó, son-in-law of Mr. Bernat Febrer, closed this part of the event and offered a cocktail. During this occasion, our guests enjoyed the wines of Blanca Terra together with some delicious snacks.
